Like good responsible citizens, we should inform the municipalities (if they have a shelter/clinic) or any animal welfare association in our town if there are stray animals to be neutered or vaccinated in our neighbourhoods. Remember 1 female dog can have approximately 15 to 20 puppies in one year. We should always remember that nature consists of humans, animals and plants. Therefore, we should show utmost care not to spoil this balance. The problems caused by over-population of animals is not solely the responsibilitiy of the municipalities or of the animal welfare associations; it is our common responsibility. Once these harmless and affectionate animals are neutered and vaccinated we can help them survive the very few years of life granted to them by feeding them (we are sure every household can spare a few slices of bread and a few spoonfuls of left-over food) and caring for them. If you are willing to help solve problems created by stray animals, please contact our association. We will reach you either by phone or e-mail. |
